Intentionality. What is it? How important is it really?

I am here to tell you that being intentional with things that you do is probably one of the most important things you can do as a man and as a leader. It doesn’t matter what or who you are leading, if you just wing it or float through life others around you do the same. It is easy to let 5, 10, 15 years slip by in complacency. I worked my butt off in the military thinking I was intentionally working hard to set my family up. However, I was just doing what the machine expected me to do. God calls all of us to much more than that. You and I were never meant to be pawns where we just wake up, go to work, and slowly die a meaningless death in the grind. We were meant to be strong leaders and protectors of those in your care. Being intentional can lead to progress where complacency lies to you about you being good where you are. Imagine a life in which you didn’t fear growth, failure, or success. Imagine what it would be like if you intentionally moved through life. You did things that you know would get you closer to being the Dad you always wish you had, that made your marriage stronger, or that allowed you to land a job that you never thought you could get. It is possible through intentionality and belief in yourself. Love yourself enough to be intentional with your time.
